… A wee bit belated, but the last week or so just hasn’t really happened, so I’ve been catching up today.
When I first thought of doing a project a week, I imagined me doing lots of little things – baby socks (!), the odd pair of mittens, relatively small things. but I also wanted to finish bigger projects that I’ve put off or left languishing in dark and dusty corners. Logistically, this has left me wondering how to divide a large project up into week-sized chunks, and then I realised I was spending so long thinking about how to do it I didn’t actually do it (true to form). So I’m counting finishing the body of my “made up as I go along” raglan jumper as week 4’s project.
Ever so simple, boringly so, but it’s the first time I’ve knitted a raglan, and as the name suggests, I’m making it up as I go along – I already know that if I was to do another in this way, I’d perhaps add small cables down the sleeves and front, or some sort of simple lace pattern. I’ve not even done any waist shaping – the only thing of any interest is the picot edging (as I’m not much of a fan of rolled hems).
I’m thinking the sleeves can be another week’s project, and I bet I can finish the whole thing just as the weather warms up…
Week 5’s post coming up in the next day or so, I swear…
