I’m really not doing very well at this Project52 thing, am I? *facepalm* My raglan jumper has sort of ground to a shuddering halt – I got halfway down the first sleeve before realising I really can’t get away with doing no shaping whatsoever, and I don’t think I have the willpower to undo it and try and figure out some sort of shaping, so that’s gone on the backburner for the time being, and I’ve otherwise been really busy – a lovely Valentine’s weekend in Bradford was had (if you ever find yourself up there, I can highly recommend Prashad, a very sweet little restaurant serving some AMAZING food – not to mention the fact it’s lovely not to have to look for the little “v” next to dishes on a menu!) and I had THREE exams this week, amongst lots of other rather stressful happenings (like getting hit by a car on my way to aforementioned exam…)
Fortunately I’m in the middle of a 4 day weekend, so I have just been relaxing, catching up with stuff and generally trying to “recharge” a bit, ready for the next round of courseworks, projects and deadlines in the next month or so…
But there has been SOME activity on the craft front. Lots of SEX*, for example.
I FINALLY made my first visit to iKnit after my last exam (any excuse), and I wasn’t disappointed. The shop wasn’t anything like I imagined – much smaller – and there was a knitting group on when I visited, so it was quite a squeeze to get round and paw all the yarn (many skeins were knocked on the floor, much to my embarrassment), but the range of yarns they stock is gorgeous, and I felt quite weak at the knees. It took quite a lot of willpower to remember I am a student and am on a student budget… I did get some yummy llama/wool yarn, for a top secret project – I’ve never worked with llama yarn before so I’m excited to see how that goes!
There’s something about Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino that makes it probably my favourite yarn. It’s just so simple, yet so lovely. Anyway, I’m a bit scared of starting the project I got this for (another top secret one ;)) in case I screw it up, or throw in the towel halfway through, but I shall give it a go.
Anyway, I’ve managed to write quite a long post about not much at all, so I shall end here with the promise that I will catch up with my Project52 with all due speed 🙂
